Joel E. Segall has been representing clients throughout the greater Baltimore area for over 30 years. As a practitioner, Mr. Segall views his role as being not only an advisor, but a collaborator, enabling his clients to participate in making decisions that best represent their interests, while simultaneously providing zealous advocacy. Recognizing that clients are most familiar with the facts of their own cases, Mr. Segall works to keep clients aware and informed about every facet of their cases, and provides active engagement throughout the legal process. He’s passionate about empowering his clients throughout the divorce process, and is a strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution. He keeps his eye on the goal of getting his client through the divorce process so that they are in a position to thrive and move forward with their lives.

Mr. Segall believes his family law practice is enhanced by handling a wide array of legal cases, including personal injury, workers’ compensation, employment law, social security disability cases, and will drafting. Likewise, Mr. Segall assists clients in establishing guardianships, drafting Advance Healthcare Directives, and Powers of Attorney.

Education

Mr. Segall is a lifelong resident of Maryland. He attended Washington & Lee University, and went on to graduate from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Activities and Community Involvement

As a member of the American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, and Maryland Association for Justice, Mr. Segall is actively engaged in Baltimore’s legal community.

Mr. Segall has been a long time member of the Board of the Baltimore Humane Society—an activity in which he passionately participates—and also enjoys reading, cycling, and swimming. Mr. Segall enjoys spending time with his wife, Robynn, two sons, Zachary and Harrison, grandson, Teddy, and two dogs, Jesse and Carson.

Certifications

Mr. Segall is collaborative trained, having received his training and certification in September, 2017. Mr. Segall has participated in collaborative law cases as part of his family law practice. In addition, Mr. Segall was certified and trained in civil mediation in June, 2006, and successfully completed training in Child Access Mediation Training in October, 2017.

Awards

Mr. Segall has been recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyer in the area of family law in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, and 2020.
